Icod de los Vinos and La Guancha already have everything ready so that, today, the eve of the festival of San Andrés, their streets recover the celebration of the dragging of tables and pots that was suspended in 2020 due to the pandemic. With the exception of San Juan de la Rambla, which decided not to authorize it again as a precaution given the increase in cases of COVID, the other two municipalities of the Region have opted to recover the street to experience this festival. Both in the Ciudad del Drago and in La Guancha, today and tomorrow, on the eve and feast of Santo, they will enjoy the tables, although the second municipality has already started the celebration this weekend with the great wine and tapas festival.
In Icod, as DIARIO DE AVISOS announced, the tables will be held with a series of limitations that guarantee health security. In specific roads, such as El Plano, the favorite of the youngest, a limited capacity will be established, which will ensure social distancing and the mandatory use of masks, controlled by the members of the Local Police, Civil Protection and private security agents, the mayor confirms. Los Franceses, San Sebastián and El Sol streets also have their specific plans, and in all of them the side prohibits the installation of barbecue pits, hot dog stands or the sale of chestnuts and new wine with music.
In La Guancha, a score of streets will be closed to traffic in the old town (La Palmita, El Agua, El Sol, La Caldera, Los Alfareros, La Hoya de Arcos, Las Colmenitas, El Pinalete, San Antonio, Lanzarote, Icod de los Wines and El Risco), Santo Domingo (La Mayorina, San Felipe and Las Sabinas) and in Santa Catalina.
