VALVERDE (EL HIERRO), 26 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Maritime Rescue successfully retrieved a cayuco carrying 51 migrants early on Monday, reported sources from the organisation to Europa Press. The vessel was located approximately 22 miles southeast of the island.
The Helimer 201 identified the boat and the operation, conducted by the Salvamar Adhara, occurred around 02.15 hours, with arrival at the port of La Restinga shortly before 04.45 hours.
After receiving medical assistance from the Red Cross and the SUC, all male passengers of sub-Saharan origin were deemed to be in good overall health.
