The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, via its Technology department, wishes to remind residents that several months ago it launched an innovative WhatsApp channel that enables citizens to receive all the latest municipal updates directly on their mobile devices.
This initiative is intended to furnish the residents of the capital with swift and straightforward access to all information pertaining to the news generated by the local Administration. The Mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez, notes that “the introduction of this service exemplifies the City Council’s dedication to transparency, accessibility, and the utilisation of new technologies to enhance the lives of citizens, as it is crucial to leverage digital resources and improve communication between local authorities and residents.”
Councillor for Technology, Purificación Dávila, adds that “the majority of citizens already utilise WhatsApp in their everyday lives, which is why we opted to establish this channel, providing easy and direct access to all information without the need to download additional apps or register on other platforms.”
The councillor also emphasises “the capability of this new tool to deliver accurate information from official sources” and encourages the general public to subscribe to the channel in order to “stay informed about everything occurring in their community from the convenience of their mobile screens.”
The WhatsApp channel from the Santa Cruz City Council joins the existing profiles the institution maintains on social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, X, and Instagram, as well as the municipal website www.santacruzdetenerife.es, which offers comprehensive information about the municipality’s services.
