A diverse meteorological mix has dominated the last 48 hours across the Canary Islands. The strong thermal surges originating from the Sahara over the weekend have led to a substantial influx of warm air, which has swept into the Canary Islands, bringing with it a blend of haze, winds, and humidity. This has been particularly evident since the early hours of Monday, featuring electrical storms, sultry conditions, and powerful gusts reaching up to 80 kilometres per hour, all instigated by these thermal surges. The situation, which is expected to persist into Tuesday, has disrupted air travel, impacting approximately twenty flights across the Canary Islands.
