SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 12 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of Tenerife, through the Canary Islands Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), has introduced a training scheme for the employees of Barrios por el Empleo aimed at enhancing expertise in employability and community engagement, which will be conducted by the Kaua Youth and Cultural Association.
The Minister for Employment and Education, Efraín Medina, stated that the goal “is to encourage the inclusion of community engagement in the professional activities of those involved in promoting employability and employment.”
This initiative is structured into different components. Individual self-directed work encompasses compulsory tasks that students need to complete, allowing them to deepen their understanding of the concepts covered in the training. Collective self-directed work serves the same purpose but is carried out collaboratively among students from the same node and/or organisation. These tasks will be assessed, graded, and factored into the students’ final evaluation.
The training will be delivered in a blended format with a total duration of 30 hours (15 hours face-to-face, 5 hours of individual independent work, 10 hours of collective independent work).
This training programme will be divided into three sessions: Immersion in the community. Online format across three collaborative training nodes. Scheduled for October, lasting a total of 3 hours. Nurturing our operational framework. Face-to-face format across three collaborative training nodes. To take place in October, with a total duration of 6 hours. And Surveying our contextual reference. Face-to-face format across three collaborative training nodes. Scheduled for November, with a total duration of 6 hours.
The key focus areas of the Barrios por el Empleo: Juntos más Fuertes programme include guiding and training unemployed individuals; exploring and facilitating partnerships with businesses to create job opportunities; enhancing the working framework with the participating organisations; adapting project activities to fit the local reality, enhancing the employability of particularly vulnerable groups, and promoting awareness of the activities and achievements among the general public. This programme is part of the Strategic Framework for Island Development (Medi) of the Government of Tenerife and is co-funded by the Canary Islands Development Fund (Fdcan).
