LONDON, 12 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Officers of the National Police have rescued a woman who was attempting to leap from the balcony of her residence in the town of La Laguna, Tenerife, as reported by the National Police Force.
Upon receiving the call from the 091 emergency operations centre, the police officers rushed to the scene where they observed a woman on the balcony preparing to jump. Quick-thinking neighbours had already placed a mattress on the ground below to prevent any potential fall.
Promptly, the officers entered the property, and a female officer initiated dialogue with the 45-year-old woman, successfully calming her momentarily. While the dialogue ensued, another officer made a decisive move to grasp the woman and avert her from falling off the balcony.
Given the woman’s substantial body weight, all attending officers had to collaborate in a collective effort to prevent her fall, ensuring her safety and escorting her back indoors.
Subsequently, the woman’s condition was stabilised, and an ambulance was summoned to transport her to the hospital for medical assessment.
