Jose Manuel Brito, a Vox councilman in the City Council of La Laguna, has requested the resignation from the mixed municipal group where Vox is a part of, and to transition to being an unaffiliated councilman, as confirmed by the far-right party yesterday. The party stated that this decision entails his detachment from the party, although they mentioned that they have not yet received any official request from the regional leadership of Vox.
With this development, Vox will now have only one councilman, Manuel Alejandro Rodríguez, who is the party’s spokesperson during plenary sessions and was its mayoral candidate for La Laguna in the recent 2023 elections. It was after these elections that Vox, for the first time, obtained representation in the city council with two councilmen in the opposition, and now, it will continue with just one.
