SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 7 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, has conveyed a message of “encouragement and support” to the Venezuelan population and to the Canarians residing in that nation, ensuring that “they understand that we stand by them and that they are not alone.” “Within the Cabildo, we wish to express our deep concern towards the current situation in Venezuela, a country closely linked to the Canary Islands and Tenerife, with whom we share a bond of brotherhood,” she stated.

During a press briefing, Rosa Dávila emphasised that there are over 55,000 Canarians and their offspring residing in Venezuela, indicating that this crisis has a direct impact on our islands as well. She further highlighted the presence of over 52,000 Venezuelans living in Tenerife, to whom she extended words of encouragement. The president mentioned her direct communication with the Canary Islands Delegation in Venezuela to stay informed about the challenging circumstances the nation is facing.

The president of the island also voiced her “complete” rejection of any form of violence or repression, expressing optimism that Venezuela will be able to navigate towards a peaceful and stable future where the people’s rights are respected, and electoral outcomes are not manipulated or concealed.

“Our main concern lies in the state of a nation we hold dear, one with which we share such strong ties,” Rosa Dávila expressed, delivering words of “encouragement, care, and apprehension” to all those directly or indirectly affected by the situation in Venezuela.
