The assembly of the north ramp of the pedestrian walkway in Tenerife Council commences this Monday. Four new modules from Cadiz, each 16 metres long and weighing 19 tonnes, will be transported to the roundabout for assembly work scheduled at night from Monday to Friday till 9th August.

Island president, Rosa Dávila, has commended the smooth progress of the work, as the four modules connecting the ramp between Avenida de la Trinidad and the pedestrian ring road are set to arrive on the island tomorrow.

She highlighted that this structure is considered one of the most innovative infrastructures in Europe that will enhance the mobility for around 50,000 vehicles and the safety of approximately 20,000 pedestrians who utilize it daily. This development will efficiently connect urban areas, universities, and the La Laguna transport hub.

The work will be carried out consecutively over four nights, starting this Monday at 9:00 p.m. and ending on Friday, 9th August at 6:00 a.m. This will involve the closure of Avenida Trinidad from the Padre Anchieta roundabout to Pedro Zerolo Street.

Drivers are urged by the Tenerife Island Council to abide by the instructions of road personnel and follow the signage in the area at all times to ensure maximal safety during the ongoing works.

The ongoing works on the Padre Anchieta pedestrian ring road include eleven metal pieces, each weighing 40 tonnes, and three connecting ramps (North, East, and South), with a total investment of 8.8 million euros.

These works, being undertaken by the company Obras Huarte Lain SA, encompass the assembly of the four modules comprising the northern ramp, 125 metres long and 1.85 metres wide, supported by seven square section metal piles that are already in place.
