SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 3 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Council of La Laguna, in partnership with Teidagua, is set to commence improvement works on the sanitation system serving residential and commercial properties, as well as restaurants in the vicinity of Plaza del Cristo and its surrounding streets starting this Monday, August 5th.
Félix Armas, manager of Teidagua, announced that the focus of the planned works will be on replacing the current main pipeline and connections, particularly a 12-metre stretch of the collector that has reached the end of its serviceable life and requires refurbishment to enhance its capacity.
Armas stated, “For the installation of the new pipeline, measuring about 800 millimetres in diameter, a trench nearly three metres deep will need to be excavated,” highlighting that several traffic adjustments will need to be implemented in the area.
Traffic will be restricted on the stretch linking the end of Nava y Grimón street with Quintín Benito street. Additionally, there will be partial closures at the end of Las Peras road, where it meets Padre Adán Canónigo de la Iglesia Catedral street, and at the beginning of Tabares de Cala road.
Nevertheless, owners of garages in the affected streets and professionals from the municipal market who park in the esplanade at the end of Las Peras road will be provided access. There will also be no impact on access to the underground car park at Plaza El Cristo. The La Laguna City Council urges citizens to cooperate by adhering to signage instructions and guidance from on-site workers to manage traffic flow and facilitate garage access.
