My Way Hotels & Resorts, operating under Tropical Turística Canaria, has assigned the interior design project and furnishing of the Grand Hotel Taoro in Puerto de la Cruz to the Dishot Insular studio, part of the Dishot Group, with over a decade of physical presence on the Island and more than twenty years of experience in the design, refurbishment, and furnishing of hotel establishments across Spain, as announced by the operator in a statement.
Juan José Moreno, CEO of the Dishot Group, views this as a “thrilling project for the entire team”, as they are “contributing to rejuvenating the most iconic hotel in the Canary Islands, established in 1890. The rich history will be reflected in our work, ensuring that its décor and furniture can narrate its marvellous history to the guests,” he added.
Following four years of planning the various areas of the hotel, now in the final phase of construction, and with the contribution of Ana G-Anleo Velayos, the interior designer overseeing the project, the CEO of Dishot stated that they have secured “not only the interior design contract for the Grand Hotel Taoro, but also for furnishing, furniture, and accessories for the 199 rooms in the establishment (standard, junior suites, themed, and presidential suites), the reception, lounges, lobby bar, and the diverse dining spaces within the property.”
According to Jorge Monje, CEO of My Way Hotels & Resorts, the selection of Dishot Insular was strongly influenced by their successful past collaborations, such as efficiently outfitting the recently inaugurated Sandára Wellness & Spa Abama, designed by Alejandro Escudero. Dishot was also responsible for both the interior design and the tailored fit-out of projects like the Abama Kids Camp, the Abama Tennis Academy leisure area, the reception area, the Sunway pool bar, and the Ámbar gastrobar.
Monje highlighted, “We also considered the advantage of having a single point of contact throughout this complex renovation process with Dishot, which was crucial for streamlining internal procedures. This studio was able to oversee the Grand Hotel Taoro project holistically,” emphasised Monje.
