The Office for Festivals and Recreational Activities (OAFAR) of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council officially started the registration process for the competitions of the Carnival next year, themed “Secrets of Africa”.
The registration deadline is set until 15th September.
Invitations will also be sent to established carnival groups for artistic contracts. The deadline for submitting documentation is also on 15th September.
The categories open for registration are:
- Adult Murgas
- Children’s Murgas
- Comparsas
- Rondallas
- Choreographic groups
- Musical groups
The established Carnival groups will be invited to bid for artistic contracts for the Carnival 2025 through the City Council’s online platform.
On the other hand, newly formed and non-established groups can register online through the online platform of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council.
The Festival Councillor, Javier Caraballero, expressed his satisfaction stating, “We have approved the regulations for the Carnival competitions after thorough discussions with all the groups in recent months, and it’s commendable to note their positive readiness for updates.”
Caraballero also mentioned, “The continuous communication we’ve had with the groups in recent weeks will undoubtedly lead to overall improvements.”
In the coming days, OAFAR will dispatch the participation forms and rules to group representatives interested in participating. This information will also be available at OAFAR headquarters, Calle Antonio Domínguez Alfonso, 7 (La Noria), from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and on the websites www.carnavaldetenerife.com and www.santacruzdetenerife.es.
