The Tenerife Island Council, in partnership with the INCYDE Foundation, has collaborated to launch seven training and support programmes as part of the PRECE Canarias project. The agreement was signed by the President of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Dávila, the Minister of Innovation, Research and Development, Juan José Martínez, and the General Director of INCYDE, Javier Collado.

Rosa Dávila highlighted the significance of the agreement in enhancing training and employability. She stated, “From the Cabildo, we are committed to job creation in Tenerife – with 18,500 new jobs reported in the past year according to EPA data. Agreements like this help us promote entrepreneurship and self-employment, facilitating the labour integration of inactive or unemployed individuals.”

Emphasising the importance of promoting self-employment and business ventures, Juan José Martínez noted that enhanced business training is key to reducing unemployment. He stated, “Our goal is to foster self-employment and economic activities in areas conducive to growth and sustainability, instilling self-assurance and motivation.”

Javier Collado, the general manager of INCYDE, expressed the Foundation’s dedication to encouraging entrepreneurship and self-employment in the Canary Islands. He remarked, “We are delighted to be part of this initiative that aims to provide new opportunities for personal and professional advancement, thereby contributing to the strengthening of the local economy.”

Through this collaboration, the INCYDE Foundation and the Tenerife Science and Technology Park aim to enhance activities in entrepreneurship and business, with a focus on promoting self-employment and integrating inactive or unemployed individuals into the workforce.

The agreement includes the implementation of seven training programmes for self-employment and business consolidation. These initiatives seek to foster business success by presenting participants with new growth prospects and aiding in the development of business projects. The first programme, commencing in September, will cover Smart Entrepreneurship: Digital Marketing and AI (Artificial Intelligence) Applications.

The training programmes will offer a comprehensive understanding of various functional areas within a company, enabling participants to identify market opportunities through management tools. Practical sessions will involve the development of business projects proposed by participants and the resolution of implementation challenges.

Supported by the ESF+ under the State Programme of the Canary Islands and co-financed by the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN), all initiatives undertaken by the Tenerife Science and Technology Park aim to promote entrepreneurship and business consolidation, further enhancing the local economy.
