SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 27 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
A young child of two years old needed assistance yesterday, Friday, after drowning in the Bajamar pools in La Laguna (Tenerife). This information was confirmed by the Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The distressing incident took place at 3:10 p.m. when the 1-1-2 operations centre received a distress call reporting that lifeguards were aiding a child who had been rescued from the water showing signs of drowning.
Cecoes promptly activated emergency response teams, including a basic life support ambulance and a medical ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC), alongside local and national police who arrived at the scene.
Upon arrival, SUC medical staff continued to provide care to the child before transferring him to Hospital Universitario Ntra. Sra. de Candelaria due to signs of moderate drowning. The police authorities took over the necessary procedures.
