Kishinchand Tirthdas Bharwani Baxani, a key figure in the establishment of Maya in the Canary Islands, passed away on Thursday at the San Roque Hospital in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
Maya was a well-known electronics store in the Islands. Originating in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and with several branches in the capital of Gran Canaria, the chain grew from a small shop in the Candelaria square in the Tenerife capital to become an empire generating an annual revenue of 90 million Euros and employing 2,000 individuals.
The wake is being held this Friday at the San Miguel Funeral Home, room 101. The Indian-born entrepreneur will be cremated on Saturday, starting at 2:30 p.m.
