Splashdown! A car has once again taken a plunge into the waters in Canary Islands. Unlike a few months ago, when a vehicle fell during a boat crossing between Gran Canaria and Tenerife, this time it happened at the Port of La Estaca, on the island of El Hierro.
The vehicle belonged to an employee of a local shipping company and, after not properly engaging the handbrake, the car slid along the pier and fell into the water. There was a strong gust of wind at the location which, according to initial investigations, combined with the failure to engage the handbrake, pushed the vehicle into the sea.
Fortunately, there were no injuries to report. The individuals present collaborated and rescued the car from the seabed.
