Manuel Fariña from Tenerife has raised concerns about the treatment of his 89-year-old mother, Mérida González, at the Nuestra Señora de La Concepción Nursing Home Hospital in Garachico. He describes the conditions as inhumane and unacceptable, stating that his mother spends her days confined to a room with nine other women, simply staring at the ceiling. Fariña, along with other families, has reported the substandard care provided at this facility to the Observatory of Social Rights of the Canary Islands (Odesocan). He attributes these issues to severe understaffing, which is impacting the well-being of the elderly residents.
