The Santiago del Teide City Council announces the tender for the drafting of the basic project for the construction of a new urban park, equipped with 200 public parking spaces, in the Lermes ravine. The local government (PP) emphasizes that it is “an action planned within the municipal strategy to improve tourist and environmental competitiveness of the coastline located between Los Gigantes and Puerto de Santiago».
The estimated value of the contract initially amounts to 70,093 euros. A drafting period of six months is granted from the signing of the contract between the southern City Council and the future winner. The presentation of offers may be processed through the Public Sector Procurement Platform and the deadline ends next December 7 at 4:00 p.m.
The scope of action where it is intended to build this new public space includes an area of more than 23,000 square meters. The project foresees the environmental and landscape rehabilitation of the ravine for the implementation of tourist leisure activities, complemented by others aimed at improving the mobility of this urban and tourist environment.
The basic project must propose «urbanization, landscaping and building interventions for the rehabilitation of the area of access to the beach in the area and a solarium with an area of approximately 2,000 square meters. In addition, the landscape regeneration of the slope is proposed, including itineraries connecting with the town and access to the park, in an approximate area of 12,000 square meters; the rehabilitation of the bottom of the ravine for recreational and restaurant programs, in a space of about 6,500 square meters, and an open modal interchange that would connect by means of a shuttle bus with the main leisure offers of the coast of Santiago del Teide.
