The Governing Council of Tenerife Island Council unanimously passed the ‘Activa Suelo’ scheme for towns with populations exceeding 20,000, allocating an initial sum of 1.5 million that could potentially reach up to 2.5 million.
Vice president, Lope Afonso, disclosed this during a media briefing, revealing that each town stands to receive a maximum of 250,000 Euros. In cases where project costs surpass this cap, the towns will need to finance the excess amount themselves.
Afonso highlighted the Council’s projection that approximately 700 residential units could kickstart construction this year. “We are embracing yet another positive development, another landmark achievement, which underscores our unwavering commitment to tackling one of the enduring and critical challenges on the island,” he remarked.
