SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 15 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Roads department of the Tenerife Island Council has launched a tender for the enhancement works of the island roads TF-344 and TF-28, with a budget exceeding three million euros.

Dámaso Arteaga, the Roads Councillor, elaborates that the revamping project is a response to the necessity of replacing the road surface of these heavily trafficked roads, which are “key areas in both the Northern and Southern parts of the island”.

For the TF-344 island road, the enhancement works will cover the 5-kilometre stretch between kilometre points 3+000 and 8+500, linking the municipalities of Los Realejos, San Juan de La Rambla, and La Guancha.

The project, designed by Consultora Canaria de Ingeniería y Medio Ambiente, SL, requires an investment of 1.6 million euros, co-funded by the island Administration under the Multiannual Strategic Framework of Actions for the Development of Tenerife (MEDI) and by the Government of the Canary Islands through the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN 2016-2025).

The completion timeline for the works is set at eight months, as per a statement from the Council.

Regarding the second contract, the enhancements will focus on the rehabilitation of the TF-28 island highway section between kilometre points 85+500 and PK 91+000, spanning from Mirador de la Centinela to the San Lorenzo Valley in the municipality of Arona.

The project entails an investment of 2.2 million euros and includes the renovation and enhancement of the road surface, as well as the replacement of barriers and existing bus stops.

The Tenerife Island Council urges road users to exercise extreme caution when enhancement works on the road surface commence and to adhere to the instructions of the Road Service personnel and signage throughout the duration of the works.
