At times, the instability of the job market and the high costs of maintaining a household can lead some individuals to take out credit loans to cope with daily expenses, without the certainty of being able to meet them. This is the case of a family man from Santa Lucía de Tirajana who managed to wipe out a debt of over 48,000 euros thanks to the Second Chance Law.

For a long time, Nauzet Calderín was the main source of income for his family, while his partner’s earnings were limited by temporary contracts. “Sometimes my salary was not enough to cover the costs of life,” he explains.

This situation led him to take out several financial products to cover daily expenses and ensure the economic stability of his 6-year-old son. However, he eventually couldn’t keep up with the payments and they started to accumulate, creating an even more challenging situation for his family.

After trying unsuccessfully to consolidate and settle his debts on several occasions, he decided to seek help. Thanks to the support and advice of the legal team at Canarias Sin Deuda, Nauzet was able to initiate the Second Chance Law process. “We found out about their work through the internet, on social media, and from the very beginning, their service was excellent,” he adds.

The territorial manager of Canarias Sin Deuda, Samuel Díaz, explains, “At times, the instability of the job market and the high costs of maintaining a household can lead some individuals to take out credit loans to cope with daily expenses, without the certainty of being able to meet them, as was the case with our client. Fortunately, there is a legal mechanism to get out of over-indebtedness that more and more people are becoming aware of.”

Nauzet encourages all individuals going through a similar situation not to be afraid and to seek help from a specialist: “The beginning was tough but now I think it was totally worth it. The Canarias Sin Deuda staff advise you and make things much easier for you.”
