An official communication has been released by the Granadilla de Abona City Council on their social media platforms to notify the public that the closure notice and sign discovered this morning at El Médano beach are both fraudulent.
As per the council’s statement, the beach remains open and unrestricted, with water quality tests confirming it is safe for swimming.
The individual responsible for this misleading sign, which caused concern among beachgoers earlier today, is currently unidentified. The fake notice falsely claimed to be from the City Council and warned against swimming due to supposed Monofecal bacteria presence.
