The Cabildo of Tenerife, through the program Tenerife Isla Solidaria, managed by Sinpromi, has set up a service to assist migrants from the island.

It will do so in collaboration with volunteer organizations that work directly with the migrant community, offering them information, advice and guidance on available resources on migration.

As detailed by the CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, in a statement, this service was born during the pandemic, “when the real need of this group in basic matters such as food was revealed.”

In addition, they will be offered training in the Spanish language and the possibility of collaborating with volunteer actions as a means of social inclusion, the note details.

The volunteer entities attached to Tenerife Isla Solidaria that work with this group will be offered referral services for migrants, depending on the detected demands and available resources, as well as coordination with municipal resources and training in the field of migration and resource management.

A network of entities will also be promoted to promote social inclusion, the fight against racism, xenophobia and other forms of hatred.

For the development of this service, the Tenerife Isla Solidaria program has several locations in which to serve citizens.
