SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 23 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has approved this Tuesday in the Governing Council the award of the contract for the execution of the works to improve the municipal reservoirs and the supply networks for the supply of drinking water in Fasnia to the company Canaragua Concesiones, SA, for an amount of 1,089,000 euros.
The action is included in the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2018-2021 and will be financed 90 percent by the Cabildo (980,100 euros) and 10 percent by the Fasnia City Council (108,900 euros).
The insular councilor for Municipal Cooperation and Housing, Zebenzuí Chinea, points out in a note that “all the storage of water for human consumption in the municipality will be renewed and regularized in accordance with the law and current regulations, something that did not happen before, having totally modern and forward-looking mechanisms “.
Chinea informs that the works will have a term of execution of nine months and will consist, fundamentally, in the renovation of the main pipes, the installation of meters, the filtration and self-dosing chlorination and the reduction of pressures.
Specifically, the Pino del Agua, Fasnia II, La Zarza and Las Eras tanks will be conditioned in order to improve their condition and adapt them to the sanitary criteria of the quality of water for human consumption.
Chinea explained that sectorization measures will also be taken in the supply network, and stressed that the Fasnia I and Zarza I deposits “will be left out of the normal operation of the network, remaining as a reserve for emergency situations.”
For his part, the mayor of Fasnia, Damián Pérez, has valued “the predisposition and interest of Chinea and its technical team”, and has assured that it is a “key” work for the municipality, “both in the field of the deposits as in the one of the sectorización, in order to minimize the losses that take place in the network of water of the municipality, and to improve the quality of life of its neighbors “.
