Celebration of Tenerife’s diverse festival marks its tenth successful year

A hundred individuals from various backgrounds, representing a fraction of the over 170 people comprising Tenerife’s population and residing on the island, answered the invitation to the tenth solidarity meal organised by the Together in the Same Direction cultural coexistence strategy. Chaired by Águeda Fumero, the Councilor for Social Action of the Cabildo de Tenerife, the gathering took place on Saturday, July 6 – coinciding with anti-immigration protests in the Canary Islands – at the Cueva del Gofio in the municipality of Candelaria. The aim was to foster unity and showcase the diverse cultural tapestry that defines Tenerife’s society.
