The Los Realejos Town Hall in 2022 it will have a budget that grows by almost 4% compared to 2021 and that exceeds 31,337,480 euros. Some accounts that, according to the mayor, Manuel Domínguez (PP), «They allocate around the 15% for social spending»; increase investment in personnel by 706,000 euros to fill vacancies and create new positions, and initially allocate 2.6 million euros to Neighborhood Plan, with the idea of increasing this amount over the next year, charged to the settlement of the 2021 budget.

As it already happened this year, the royal council approved yesterday, with the vote against the PSOE and the abstention of CC, some accounts that will change a lot in the coming months. When the 2021 budget is settled, the royal council You may increase some items and incorporate others charged to that remainder. It is expected to be in the month of February 2022 when investments are modified upwards, charged to that municipal saving.

The mayor of the Treasury, Darío Pérez (PP), details some of the investments planned in the Neighborhood Plan as “the purchase of land in different neighborhoods for public use; the adaptation and rehabilitation of municipal facilities such as buildings, roads and other public spaces, or the improvement of agricultural tracks as a measure to support the primary sector ”. Some of the specific projects, “already drawn up and that will go on to their respective public bidding processes shortly”, are the reforms of the Icod el Alto and La Cruz Santa; the launch of the cafeteria of the Entrepreneur’s House; improvements in streets such as Los Pinitos, Siete Fuentes, San Agustín, Tinerfe, Tedote, El Mocán and El Secadero; the improvement of the Comprehensive Care Center for People with Disabilities, or the Casa del Motor project, in Toscal Longuera.

Expenditure on personnel increases in 2022 by 706,594 euros, which will make it possible to fill vacant positions and the creation of new public employment positions.

The local government (PP) It also expects to carry out in 2022 some projects that are still in the drafting phase, such as the rehabilitation of the streets El Viñátigo, El Calvario, Callejón del Burro, Viera, Clavijo, La Isleta, La Magnolia, La Unión and Las Rosas; the reform of the Plaza de La Montaña; a project of flyovers to improve accessibility and road safety; the replacement of the lawn of the Los Príncipes football stadium; the second phase of the conditioning of the surroundings of La Cruz del Castaño; the creation of an urban park in Los Potreros, or the water supply project in the Los Afligidos area.

Manuel Dominguez it values the effort that will be made in terms of personnel, who are “the greatest asset of public administrations”. Thanks to the negotiation between Royal City Council and the union representatives approved a new list of jobs (RPT) for 2022, which confirms an increase of 706,594 euros in Chapter I, the one related to personnel expenses, “which is made effective through the coverage of positions vacancies and creation of new public employment positions for this local administration ”.

The social area of the Los Realejos City Council has a budget of 4,596,828 euros for the social area, “15% of the total”, according to the local government (PP).

The mayor acknowledges that the development and application of the new regulations on public sector contracting “has forced the generation of a series of expenses already consolidated under formats such as multi-year contracts or framework agreements, for issues such as cleaning public buildings , the supply of lighting, hardware expenses, the supply of stationery or vehicle workshops, among others ”. This generates, according to Domínguez, “a compulsory spending structure that leaves little room for other actions, but even so we have once again strengthened the social area with a budget of 4,596,828 euros and increased investments and the Neighborhood Plan above 2.6 million euros, at the expense, as we have indicated, of new modifications and future injections of credit from municipal savings ».

The popular leader stressed that “Despite not being a direct competence of the municipalities, we have once again put employment policies at the center of our objectives”. Among them, «training actions for royal citizens and their better preparation for the labor market; incentive and bonus actions for entrepreneurship and business implantation; the development of guidance projects for employability with a set of record resources, through different specialized entities, or temporary employment plans with other administrations for direct hiring ».

The local government ensures that the specific employment budget, “once it receives the remaining economic injections during the development of the 2022 financial year,” as of February, “will be more than 2 million euros.” An effort to which they add “the commitment to commerce and dynamization; the reinforcement of cultural and leisure activities, or promotional initiatives in tourism or sports’, which are, in the opinion of Manuel Dominguez, “Some examples of our indirect commitment also to employment, development and the mobilization of the economy in our municipality.”

Faced with criticism from the PSOE, Darío Pérez He wanted to clarify that the reform, conditioning and improvement works (RAM) in the eight public schools in the town will be incorporated, as in 2021, “when the initial budget is modified.” And they will have «an amount similar to that of this exercise, which reached the record figure of 400,000 euros of investment in improvements in schools».

The PSOE presented 52 amendments and the PP rejected them all

The PSOE realejero presented 52 amendments to the municipal budget of 2022, valued at about 2.5 million euros, of which “not one was accepted.” For this reason, the Socialists voted yesterday against some accounts that they censor “for continuists; socially unjust; not distributing wealth equitably, and for getting down on issues as important as general services, employment, education, civil protection, health, volunteer firefighters, information and communications, or the Neighborhood Plan itself. The local spokesman for the Socialists, Miguel Agustín García, who appeared accompanied by the rest of the municipal group, stressed that “spending on personnel increases after the needs of the area were left unattended for many years and the staff with so many jobs was left to die. vacancies ». García once again insisted that the government group costs the municipality “one million euros a year, of the 11 million that the staff costs, one million goes to the twenty people who make up the government group together with their eventual staff. More than the 900,000 euro item for social assistance ». Socialists criticize that works in schools are not included in the accounts either.
