As summer graces us with its presence, bringing along the pleasant weather, our inclination towards outdoor activities increases. One popular choice among locals during this time is attending summer cinema, offering a unique way to appreciate the art of film in a more laid-back setting. A large screen, powerful sound system, darkness under the twinkling stars – the ideal combination for relishing this highly praised cinematic experience.

The inaugural summer cinema event in Tenerife is finally here, starting this weekend in the island’s capital. The Plaza de Residencial Anaga, in the Centro-Ifara District, will be hosting the open-air cinema showcasing three different films, one per day, with complimentary entry until seating reaches full capacity.

Witness the grand opening of FIMUCITÉ – Tenerife International Film Music Festival’s summer film series.

Kicking off the screenings is the musical classic Mamma Mia, scheduled for this Friday at 8:00 p.m., promising a delightful blend of musical hits and heartwarming storyline.

On Saturday, July 6, the screen will come alive with West Side Story – a film adaptation of the renowned Broadway musical that has enthralled audiences worldwide with its poignant tale of love and rivalry among street gangs.

Closing the series on Sunday, July 7, is the screening of The Phantom of the Opera. Drawing inspiration from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical, this film guarantees an unforgettable experience with its mix of romance, mystery, and captivating music.

All screenings will take place at the same time. Admission is free until seating capacity is reached, hence arriving early is advisable to secure a prime viewing spot.
