The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife proudly presented the newly inaugurated children’s park on Volcán de Chaorra street in El Sobradillo, situated in the Suroeste district.
This park, part of the second lot of projects by the City Council for establishing new children’s recreational areas, was constructed in just 5 months, requiring an investment of €324,601.76, inclusive of IGIC. The park features 7 modules of inclusive games themed around the sea.
Expressing his delight, Mayor José Manuel Bermúdez stated, “Families in the Suroeste district, home to one of the highest child populations, can now relish this accessible and secure new park for our little ones.” He further emphasised the Council’s dedication to refurbishing and creating play areas that foster the development and enjoyment of the municipality’s children.
Detailing the specifics, Public Services Councillor Carlos Tarife noted, “This fresh park spans 382 square metres, adorned with rubber flooring hosting 7 play modules, alongside 3 newly planted trees to offer shade during the sunniest days.”
Councillor Javier Rivero from the Southwest district added, “This park will bestow the Southwest district with a contemporary recreational oasis, a hub for leisure and cross-generational gatherings where all children can freely play.”
It’s worth noting that this site, alongside Chimisay, Tío Pino, Cuchillitos de Tristán, Cuesta Piedra, or Cuatro Torres, is among the areas where the City Council has embarked on construction and enhancement efforts since last February.
