Baleària and Fred. Olsen Express will reinforce, starting tomorrow and during the summer months – between 1st July and 30th September – their maritime route between Canary Islands and Huelva. There will be an increase from three to four weekly journeys in each direction, allowing for a doubling of departures offered in the same period last year.
The route is operated by two ships: the Sicilia vessel, which has a capacity for 1,000 passengers and 400 vehicles, as well as the ferry Marie Curie, which can accommodate over 800 passengers and 600 vehicles, as reported by the shipping companies.
This expansion of connections will meet the high demand expected for the summer period, both for passengers and for the transportation of rolling stock between the Peninsula and the Canary Islands.
Starting tomorrow, departures from Huelva will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, all heading to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, except for the Wednesday trip, which will only have a connection to Tenerife.
On the other hand, departures from the islands will be on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays, with this last day including two trips departing from Tenerife.
The service between the Peninsula and the Canary Islands, operated by Baleària and Fred. Olsen Express for over five years, demonstrates this strategic alliance for the maritime connection between the islands and the Peninsula.

Since its inception, the connection has transported over a million linear metres of cargo and more than 155,000 passengers between Huelva and the Canary Islands, consolidating a key route for freight transportation.
