SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 29th June (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Tenerife Fire Prevention, Extinguishing and Rescue Consortium has granted a subsidy of 450,000 euros to the eight Volunteer Fire Brigade Associations to assist them in covering the costs related to the services they offer.

As stated in a press release, the recipient Volunteer Fire Brigade Associations are those of La Laguna, Tegueste, Güímar, Adeje, Guía de Isora, Santiago del Teide, Ycoden Daute and Los Realejos.

The island’s Director of Security and Emergencies, Iván Martín, stated that “Tenerife’s Council and the Firefighters Consortium reaffirm their dedication to the safety and welfare of citizens, and this grant marks a crucial advance in fortifying the emergency response system on the island. We deeply value the relentless work of Tenerife’s volunteer firefighters and look forward to the continued success of this collaboration for the greater good of all.”

“The subsidies also aim to enhance cooperation between the Firefighters Consortium and volunteer associations. Through collaborative efforts, we can enhance coordination and effectiveness in emergency operations, benefiting the entire Tenerife population,” he added.

The financial assistance will enable the associations to acquire necessary equipment, maintain their premises and vehicles, and enhance the training of their members.

This will ensure that volunteer firefighters are better equipped to respond efficiently and securely to emergencies.

Additionally, it will help in promoting and attracting new volunteers, crucial for the sustainability and expansion of the associations.
