SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 25th June (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Council of Tenerife will dedicate 700,000 euros to foster the creation, production, and development of audiovisual projects on the island. Through this initiative, the goal is to boost artistic audiovisual creation and encourage the emergence of new narrative proposals with special audiovisual and cinematographic artistic significance on the Island.

José Carlos Acha, the Minister of Culture and Museums of Tenerife, emphasised that it is a commitment of the insular Institution “to endorse and support the talent that is being nurtured in Tenerife and motivate them to advance professionally.” “Currently, there are several ongoing audiovisual projects that demonstrate the presence of outstanding professionals on the Island, enthusiastic and eager, who are delivering commendable work and deserving of recognition,” he added.

José Carlos Acha mentioned that “all projects carried out between the 1st of January of this year and the 31st of December, 2026” will be eligible. Furthermore, he specified that the grant has been segmented into four categories due to “the abundance of projects and the desire for everyone to have the opportunity to benefit, or at least attempt to, from this financial assistance.”

The four categories are: production of live-action and animated feature films, encompassing both fiction and documentaries, from a minimum of 400,000 euros; production of live-action and animated feature films, covering fiction and documentaries, from 80,000 euros; production of live-action and animated short films, including fiction and documentaries, and development of live-action and animated feature films, involving fiction and documentaries.

Recipients must have a contract or pre-contract in place with a director and screenwriter to develop the project receiving the aid and own the rights to the work, or in any cases, hold a purchase option for the rights.

The guidelines can be found at https://sede.tenerife.es and the deadline for submission will be 20 business days following the publication in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP).
