The Government of Tenerife will distribute 1,025,000 euros (over 2024 and 2025) to a scheme of grants aimed at boosting the competitiveness of Tenerife’s retail sector, by refurbishing premises and upgrading equipment.
The Minister of Commerce and Business Support, Krysten Martín, stated, “Our goal is to assist self-employed individuals and micro-enterprises from various sectors on the island in their process of modernisation, renovation, and business development, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.”
Likewise, this initiative aims to “aid Tenerife’s productive network in undertaking projects that enhance energy efficiency, improve the aesthetics of premises, adapt or remove architectural barriers, and modernise furniture and external signage.”
Martín highlighted that “the sum earmarked for this grant scheme may be increased by 320,000 euros, totalling 1,345,000 euros.”
The minister emphasised that “projects focusing on the transformation, modernisation, and enhancement of commercial establishments will be prioritised, with the objective of elevating the consumer experience through efforts that result in better product presentation, the provision of unique services, more attractive premises, as well as any initiatives that offer added value and differentiate themselves from a commercial perspective.”
