SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 24th June (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Economy, Industry, Commerce and Self-Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Industry, has announced today in the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands (BOC) the release of funding aimed at sustaining, revitalising, and boosting artisanal activities in the region.

The total amount of this funding is set at 417,289 euros with the goal of providing financial support to artisans, artisanal businesses, and other industry-related entities, both public and private, for activities such as artisanal training, workshop enhancements, and product promotion at events and fairs.

The Vice President and Minister of Economy, Industry, Commerce, and Self-Employment of the regional government, Manuel Domínguez, emphasised that this financial assistance “will aid in the preservation, modernisation, and restructuring of artisanal activities in the Canary Islands.” “Our aim is to revive and strengthen the artisanal heritage of the Archipelago, in line with the government’s strong commitment to craftsmanship,” he added.

The Director General of Industry, Ana Zurita, highlighted that this initiative “establishes a unified strategy for the professionalisation of the sector.” “This approach aligns with a business model that integrates professional training while adhering to principles of innovation, digitalisation, and sustainability,” she elaborated.

Eligible activities encompass artisan training, workshop improvements, and product promotion at fairs and similar events that showcase the productive artisanal scene on the islands.
