Last Friday, the 500 tables lasted only a few minutes for the San Benito Magician’s Ball. Due to the overwhelming demand, the local council is considering the option of increasing the number of tables to accommodate all those interested in attending this traditional event.

The event is expected to draw thousands of visitors on July 12, gathering around the La Concepción church and Marqués de Celada street.

Three Stages at the San Benito Magician’s Ball

The theme for this year’s San Benito Abad Magician’s Ball 2024 is ‘One dance, three environments’, highlighting one of the main attractions of this edition – three different music stages that will be available during the event in La Laguna.

The primary stage will be set under the La Concepción tower hosting performances by folklore groups Ixemad, Chisaje, Hespérides, and the University Folklore Association from 9:30 p.m. At 1:00 a.m., Atenia will perform in the tower area.

A second stage will be located on Marqués de Celada Street, featuring a performance by Los Muchachos starting at 10:00 p.m.

Lastly, in the San Benito area, the Revelación, Tropin, and Maquinaria orchestras will perform from 10:00 p.m. till the early hours of the morning.

Additional Events of the San Benito Festivities

The program for San Benito Abad 2024 will commence on July 5 with the traditional proclamation and will include other significant events such as:

  • The selection ceremony for the Major Pilgrimage of the Festivities and the Pilgrimage of San Benito Abad – July 6)
  • The selection of the Children’s Pilgrimage, the Senior Pilgrimage, and the VI Pedro Molina Memorial – July 7
  • The Gala of Exaltation of Canarian Women by the Orfeón La Paz – July 8
  • The 8 Islands Festival – July 13
  • The Livestock Fair and exhibition of native Canary Island breeds – July 16
  • Or the Night of the Donkeys – July 18
