Officers from the National Police have saved the life of a 32-year-old British tourist who attempted to jump off the balcony of a hotel located in the south of Tenerife, where she was staying with her underage son.
The officers were dispatched to the scene where apparently a woman was about to throw herself off. Upon arrival, the national police officers observed a child sleeping inside the room, unaware of what was happening, and on the balcony, a British tourist, sitting on the ledge, one leg dangling outside, a distant look in her eyes, and the intention to jump off.
The officers, cautiously, started a conversation to calm the woman and deter her from the idea of leaping off the balcony, at which point the woman turned to extend the other leg outwards. Swiftly, the officers lunged towards her, preventing her from jumping from the seventh floor of the hotel.

Once the officers safely rescued the woman, she was attended to by the medical services and taken to the nearest hospital. The child is in perfect condition and, after a check-up by the medical services, has been placed under the supervision of the Minor’s Prosecution.
