National Police officials have prevented a 32-year-old British tourist from jumping off the balcony of a hotel in the south of Tenerife, where she was staying with her young son, according to the Police. National Police.
The on-duty national police officers were called to the scene where a woman was on the verge of jumping. Upon arrival, they found a sleeping child inside the room, unaware of the situation, and outside on the balcony, a British tourist sitting on the edge with one leg extended, appearing lost and contemplating jumping off.
The officers tactfully engaged in conversation to calm the woman and deter her from jumping. At one point, she repositioned her other leg outward, prompting the officers to swiftly intervene, averting her leap from the seventh floor of the hotel. Following the rescue, the woman received medical attention and was transferred to the nearest hospital.
The child is unharmed and, after a medical evaluation, has been handed over to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office.
