SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Provincial Court of Santa Cruz de Tenerife asks for 11 years in prison for each of the four internal migrants in the Las Raíces camp accused of assaulting and threatening security guards.

The letter, collected by Europa Press, indicates that the incidents began in the shower area of the camp at a time when there was a long queue and one of the inmates tried to enter by touching a guard on the hand without a mask until He ended up pushing it away.

However, when the showers were opened there was an avalanche and the man took the opportunity to nudge the woman, throw her to the ground, step on her and step over it.

Later, he hid in a maintenance room and when the rest of the guards came to detain him, he received them with kicks and punches and with other inmates joining the altercations, one of them even with an iron bar with which he attacked one from the workers.

During the journey of one of the migrants to the headquarters of the camp, says the Prosecutor’s Office, the workers were intimidated by a group of up to 40 inmates provided with razor blades, pocket knives and sticks with blades embedded in the tip, hitting the guards kicking and punching and throwing stones and objects.

One of the migrants even bit a guard on the thigh.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the migrants were “upset and aggressive” and displayed their blades in a threatening manner while shouting “see you on the street without the uniform.”

When the National Police arrived at the facilities, four migrants were arrested and the rest, with the help of workers from the NGO that is in charge of the management, disposed of their weapons and blades, which could not be recovered.

In total there were four guards injured with injuries that lasted from four to 30 days.

The four defendants are in provisional prison, notified and without bail for these events and are accused of the crimes of public disorder with dangerous instrument, injuries and threats.

The Prosecutor’s Office also requests the payment of a daily fine of 6 euros for three months and a joint compensation of 1,500 euros.

The trial is held next Wednesday at the Provincial Court.
