SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 13th June. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The head of the inquiry committee investigating the procurement of medical supplies during the pandemic at the Canary Islands Parliament, spokesperson for the Mixed Group (AHI), Raúl Acosta, cautioned on Thursday that notifying the initial witnesses, particularly former Ministry of Transport advisor Koldo García, has proven to be challenging.
To address this issue, the committee has decided to engage the services of the Canarian Police and local law enforcement to ensure successful notification of the individuals summoned.
Acosta pointed out that similar difficulties were encountered when trying to notify García of his appearance before the Balearic Parliament, with the burofax method failing to yield results, hence the need to involve security forces.
Faced with the obstacles encountered, the committee will continue to focus on notifying individuals who are more easily reachable and may consider rearranging the planned schedule during a meeting scheduled for the following week.
“We are hopeful that, by whichever means necessary, we will be able to ensure proper notification,” he explained.
Therefore, it is intended that the inquiry commission will convene on 1st July starting with the ‘mask case’ complainant, businessman Juan Manuel Pérez, followed by Koldo García if successfully notified.
