THE GUANCHA | Safe to Drink Water Restored for the Entire Population in La Guancha

The municipal government of La Guancha reports that the drinking water is once again suitable for consumption by the entire population. In a statement issued yesterday, it ensures that, following the latest analyzes carried out on the public supply, the Health department of Tenerife sent the corresponding health inspection report to the City Council, “confirming to the La Guancha City Council the correction of the fluoride level,” so “it is once again within the values established by the regulations.”

Taking into account this document, the municipal Administration informed the entire population of La Guancha “that the restriction” for drinking water consumption is lifted, a measure that was only in place for the population under eight years old since May 29th.”

The mayor of La Guancha, Antonio Hernández, explains that “we had informed that, in this case, the consumption restriction for minors under eight years old would be temporary, for a short time.” The mayor ensures that last Friday “we confirmed that the entire population of La Guancha can consume the public supply water, complying with current regulations, and therefore with all guarantees.”

It is worth noting that on April 26th, La Guancha became the first municipality in Tenerife to take measures due to the drought. In a decree, it restricted the use of water from the public network for human consumption, both for drinking and for cooking and preparing food, due to water scarcity and also due to problems in the network.
