SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 3rd June (EUROPA PRESS) –

A sum of €10.5 million has been earmarked by the Government of Tenerife to implement strategies related to education, tourism, the environment, and social work. This decision follows the approval of a budget amendment during the plenary session held on Monday to integrate this sum into the 2024 budget.

The allocation includes €2 million for the development of a socio-health centre in Cuartel del Cristo, a project outlined in the agreement made with the Ministry of Defense for the acquisition of land to kickstart this socio-health facility.

Moreover, €1.3 million will be assigned for grants to Tenerife municipalities to cover land development expenses, and €1.5 million for the restoration of real estate with significant cultural worth.

Furthermore, €630,000 will be directed towards special education grants, marking a €400,000 increase from the initial sum.

An additional €600,000 is in the pipeline to boost subsidies provided by Tenerife Tourism to enhance connectivity across the island.

The approved agreement also allots €553,880 for the enhancement of roads and trails in Teno, along with investments in the Montaña Roja Camping Site, the La Tahonilla Environmental Center, and other environmental conservation ventures.

The budget revision incorporates a provision of €315,000 to support the La Laguna City Council in policing and removing vehicles from the Anaga Rural Park, as well as €505,000 for sports grants and travel assistance, as per a statement from the Government.
