SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 31st May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Last week, the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Local Police apprehended a 49-year-old man for allegedly making death threats towards two individuals inside a bar situated close to the Nuestra Señora de África Market.
The individual utilised two machetes for this purpose, one with a 37-centimetre blade and another measuring 36 centimetres, but upon realising that security had been alerted, he fled from the premises.
A patrol from the local police force in the capital responded to the distress call and was informed by various citizens about the escape route. They managed to locate the man near the San Rafael and San Roque cemetery, although he no longer had the aforementioned bladed weapons in his possession.
The man put up resistance during the arrest, necessitating the use of minimum force to subdue him, as reported by the Local Police.
Furthermore, he was observed hiding the machetes and a small knife under a vehicle parked on a nearby street, with the law enforcement agents subsequently recovering these items.
The victims of the threats chose not to file a formal complaint, although statements and even footage of the incident provided by these individuals were gathered.
The detained individual was initially taken to a healthcare facility and subsequently to the police station, where he was placed under the jurisdiction of the judicial authorities.
