How did Lean Mind come to be?
[–>
In 2018, Carlos Blé decided to establish Lean Mind with the vision of creating an ideal work environment based on his values and over a decade of experience in software development and consulting. Having founded other companies and understanding the value of good code, Carlos aimed to showcase Canarian talent to the rest of the world.
We started as a small group, with only 5 experienced professionals and several interns from the CEDEI scholarship program, whom we mentored. As months passed, international projects came in, and by working closely with industry leaders, the team gained experience and we considered the possibility of gradual growth.
This situation was enhanced with the arrival of COVID-19. With 2 years of experience working entirely remotely, we established ourselves as pioneers in this work model.
Today, we uphold our values, providing a space where the team works comfortably and feels part of a project that contributes to society through sustainable code development.
What does Lean Mind specialize in?
[–>
Lean Mind is a software consultancy that adheres to software craftsmanship principles. We integrate with our clients’ development teams, supporting them in creating and maintaining products using methodologies such as Extreme Programming.
Our work goes beyond creating digital products: we mentor and support teams in development and quality methodologies, create sustainable code, apply and teach testing strategies, enhance deployment processes, and intervene on a daily basis as part of the team. We also assist in refactoring legacy code to ensure sustainability. We aim not to monopolise development, but to empower teams to become independent.
Who makes up Lean Mind?
[–>
In six years, Lean Mind has gradually expanded, always ensuring that our culture and values do not dilute with growth. We believe in the importance of every team member feeling essential, with the freedom to innovate internally and assume leadership.
We are a team of over 40 individuals, 4 of whom handle human resources and team care, while the rest are developers. More than half have extensive sector experience, while the other half are younger professionals with exceptional passion and learning abilities, often indistinguishable from professionals with decades of experience.
Continuous improvement and learning are fundamental to us. We stay current with technologies and methodologies to offer the best support to our collaborators.
Who are Lean Mind’s main clients?
[–>
We work remotely, so the companies we collaborate with are mostly based on the peninsula, although we also have partnerships in Germany, the United States, and the Middle East, among others.
Our collaborations focus on creating sustainable products with manageable code that can adapt to necessary changes to add value to users. We concentrate on fundamental development principles that ensure code maintainability, allowing our collaborators’ specific technological preferences to guide us.
There are no limitations when it comes to product creation for us; we have experience working on digital service platforms, communication systems, and mobile app development.
Future steps, Lean Mind’s expansion

We remain true to our founding values: assisting our collaborations, maintaining our culture, and nurturing talent. We embrace growth, as long as it does not compromise our culture and values.
We aim to work on innovative and purposeful projects where all individuals are motivated in their day-to-day activities by contributing to creating a better society while growing both professionally and personally.
What has being located in the Tenerife Science and Technology Park meant for Lean Mind?

The PCTT has been essential from our beginnings, providing us with a space for team gatherings. Even though we work remotely, we value in-person bonding moments. The offices align perfectly with our needs.
Furthermore, it allows us to stay in touch with people from other companies in the same building with whom we often share coffee breaks and some Friday training sessions, enabling us to avoid isolating ourselves and gain a holistic view of everyday life in the industry.
