The Public Services Councillor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Carlos Tarife has decided to suspend his chair initiative which aimed to monitor whether residents were disposing of their rubbish properly in the municipality.
Last week, Tarife announced this initiative and had set a commencement date: this Tuesday he would start patrolling various areas of Santa Cruz with the objective of eradicating the 28 illegal dumping spots.
Anaza and Ofra were going to be the initial neighbourhoods where the councillor would address the culprits and inform them about the location of the bins, accompanied by a Public Services inspector and the Local Police.
However, the City Council of the capital has decided to cancel this initiative “to monitor the recovery of the man who was hit by a falling tree branch in García Sanabria park.”
The City Council has specified that the start date of the chair campaign will be rescheduled in the upcoming days.
