Adeje Cabildo and City Council invest eight million to build the new auditorium

The new infrastructure occupies the space of the old theater of the town. The project that is being carried out stands out for being a facility in which the two show rooms stand out, with capacities of 500 and 120 people, respectively.

According to Enrique Arriaga, «from the Cabildo we have been sensitive to the request made by the Adeje City Council, which has decided to modify the initial project that had been included in the Cultural Infrastructure Plan ». The approach of the Municipal Corporation means that this new proposal entails “an increase” in the cost of the work in an amount greater than three and a half million euros “compared to the contribution of the Cabildo, which reaches practically five million.”

The Cabildo and the Adeje City Council “We are convinced” that “it will be an infrastructure capable of meeting the demand that exists in the municipality”, assured the insular Minister of Culture.

For Rodríguez Fraga, «we are talking about a project of great interest to Adeje, which is going to reconvert an installation that no longer met the minimum conditions for the cultural programming of our municipality into a high-level multipurpose complex, which respects the technical needs for the development of theatrical and musical activity ».

The mayor of Adejero took the opportunity to convey his gratitude to the Cabildo “not only for the financial support, but for the real interest it shows so that the site, from its architecture to its equipment, is at the required level.” José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, under whose government the municipality has developed a large park of cultural facilities, reflects on the relevance of this new infrastructure and states that “we must think that when we reopen the theater it is not only about improving our cultural agenda, but also to stimulate and generate an economy around the cultural activity that is generated here ”.

The works are in an advanced state and, after inspecting them, the authorities hope that they will be completed in a timely manner.
