This year, the Presentation of the 2023 Wine Harvest will see the participation of ten distilleries from the La Orotava Valley Denomination of Origin. The event, a traditional pre-Infraoctave of Corpus Christi celebration, is scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, at Mercedes Pinto Avenue, running from 6:00 p.m. to midnight.
Entry to the venue, catering to 6,500 attendees, will require a physical invitation. These invitations are complimentary but must be presented for access. Interested individuals can obtain these invitations, as well as wine tasting tickets, starting from Monday the 3rd at the Doña Chana cultural park, available between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., subject to availability. Each person is limited to a maximum of three invitations. Tasting wine is priced at 2.5 euros per serving, with wine consumption tickets at 2 euros each. Tapas will be available at 3.5 euros and can be purchased at the stand using cash or credit card.
The Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Valle de La Orotava, in collaboration with the Agriculture and Livestock department of the local authority, oversees the ticket distribution and sales for this event.
For this edition of the Presentation of the 2023 Wine Harvest of the La Orotava Valley Denomination of Origin, ten wineries and eleven gastronomic venues will be showcased. The participating distilleries include Suertes del Marqués; Hague; Illa; Murcal; La Suertita; La Viñita; Arautava; Caramujo Volcano; Tafuriaste; and Valleoro. They will offer a variety of certified origin wines from the Orotava Valley, including dry whites, fruity whites, barrel-aged whites, rosés, carbonic maceration reds, and traditional reds. Visitors can expect fifty different wine selections collectively from these wineries.
Additionally, eleven culinary spaces, comprising restaurants, taverns, and pastry shops, such as La Marquesa, El Molí, Balcón de Higa, El Empacho, La Plaza, El Tentempié, El Fénix, Teté Moments, Cheese and Wine, La Manobuena, and El Encuentro, will complement the wine experience.
The event will draw to a close at midnight, following which the festivities will continue at Plaza del Quinto Centenario with the Parrandero Festival, headlined by the Agarau ensemble.
