David Vega from Gran Canaria, with the best round of the day with 70 strokes (-1 gross) and Sofía Henningsen, with 72, emerged victorious in the Scratch category of the second round of the Rafa Cabrera Bello Circuit held at the Real Club de Golf de Tenerife, which coincided with the first day of the Canarian Junior Championship, continuing throughout the weekend at the El Peñón course. Both golfers were the winners of the fifth edition of the circuit.
With this result, Sofía takes the lead in the circuit ranking in the women’s category, with 100 points, after victories in the first two rounds. The men’s ranking is led by Nicolás Vidal who, with his victory in Bandama and third place at El Peñón, has accumulated 90 points to top the boys’ ranking.
The rest of the Scratch classifications in this second round were won by Gustavo Brandstetter with 73 strokes, and Isabel Martínez with 78 in the Children’s category; Diego Crespo with 78 in Boys Under 13; and Nicolás Álvarez with 12 points, and Isabella Cabezas with 11 in the Junior category.
The Under 21 Handicap classification was topped by Raimundo Baroja and Irene Martín, both with 69 points; while in the Children’s category, the victory went to Juan Cabrera and Silvia González, who also tied with a total of 67; in Boys Under 13, the triumph was for Massimo Amoni with 69; and in Juniors, Jorge Álvarez and Carla Aragón emerged victorious with 26 and 23 points respectively.
