The Changing Lives program, an initiative by Endesa Foundation in collaboration with Integra Foundation, has arrived for the first time in Canary Islands with a particular focus on the island of Tenerife. This program aims to promote the employability of individuals at risk of labour exclusion.
Since its inception in 2016, Changing Lives has provided new perspectives to 3,055 individuals in cities like Madrid, Sevilla, and Barcelona. In this new edition, the programme aims to reach 415 participants in total, with a focus on assisting 50 Tenerife residents.
The official launch took place at the Endesa headquarters in Tenerife, El Mayorazgo Industrial Estate, in the presence of Pablo Casado Reboiro, General Director of Endesa in the Canary Islands; Raquel Rubio, Director of Communication and Institutional Relations at Integra Foundation; and other representatives and collaborators linked to the project.
The beneficiaries of the programme are selected in collaboration with various NGOs, social institutions, and municipal social services. These participants will have access to training courses led by Endesa volunteer workers.
These courses cover key skills such as CV writing and interview techniques, crucial for reintegrating into the job market.
A key element of Changing Lives is the involvement of Endesa volunteers, totaling 275 members to date. The programme provides a bridge between the knowledge and experiences of these volunteers and the real needs of the participants, enriching the process of labour integration.
The impact on the social and business sectors

Pablo Casado believes that to build a better society, “it is essential to work from the standpoint of equal opportunities, ensuring that no talent is lost along the way and that nobody feels excluded from the workplace. This gives rise to ‘Changing Lives’, and we are delighted to welcome this project to the Canary Islands”.
On the other hand, Raquel Rubio, Director of Communication and Institutional Relations at Integra Foundation, expressed gratitude for the trust in Endesa, its Foundation, and the social entities participating in this initiative. “This programme serves as an example of the significant impact that the alliance between the social and business fabric has in changing the lives of individuals who have gone through challenging situations”.
Fernando Endeiza, representing Endesa Foundation, highlighted “the tremendous collaboration of volunteers who, by sharing part of their time in this initiative, achieve the program’s goal of ‘changing the lives’ of beneficiaries by helping them find employment and avoid the risk of social exclusion”
Additionally, Raquel Rubio from Integra Foundation also acknowledged the significant impact of collaboration between the social and business sectors in tangibly changing the lives of participants.
The Changing Lives program will run until it reaches its participant target for this year, with the potential for expansion and continuation in future editions depending on the success and reception of the initiative.
