Expect predominantly partly cloudy skies in Canary Islands this Tuesday, with only a few intermittent clouds that could bring some light rain to the north of certain islands. The wind is expected to be moderate with possible strong local gusts and, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), temperatures might drop but only slightly.

The maximum temperature will reach 23 degrees in both capital cities of the archipelago, while the minimum will be 19 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and 18 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, according to the forecast, which predicts moderate northeasterly winds that will pick up to be strong gusts from midday on various slopes and coasts, especially in Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

Northeasterly winds are also expected in the waters of the Canary Islands, with a force between 3 and 5, accompanied by slight swell and a northern groundswell of around 1 metre.

GRAN CANARIA

Predominantly partly cloudy skies, except in the northern half where there will be intervals of low clouds with a low chance of occasional light rain. Intervals of high cloudiness. Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, with a slight decrease in the lows in midlands. Moderate northeasterly winds, strong on the coasts and southeast and northwest slopes, as well as at the western tip. Southwest coasts will experience sea breezes. On the summits, northerly winds decreasing by late hours.

TENERIFE

Cloudy intervals, which will become mostly sunny in the northern half from midday, and in the rest, towards the end of the afternoon. Intervals of high cloudiness. Low chance of occasional light rain in the north and southwest slope during the first half of the day. Minimal temperatures with few changes, except in the southern slope where there will be drops. Maximum temperatures with few changes except in central peaks, where slight increases are expected. Moderate northeasterly winds, occasionally stronger on the northwest tip and east coast, where it can occasionally be strong. Sea breezes will prevail on the southwest coasts. On the summits, light and variable winds.

Cloudy intervals in the north, with a low chance of occasional light rains. In the rest, mostly clear skies. Intervals of high cloudiness. Temperatures with few changes, except in the peaks where maximums are slightly rising. Moderate northeasterly winds with sea breezes on the southwest coast.
