The Tourism Department of La Laguna City Council unveils the latest installment of ‘Walk and Talk’, a series of guided tours designed to explore the municipality while practising foreign languages.
Tourism Councillor Estefanía Díaz revealed the program and schedule for this new edition, showcasing a ‘Taste Edition’ for the first time. This edition features a selection of routes centred around gastronomy, including visits to local producers and vineyards to promote locally produced goods as the key highlight.
The ‘Taste Edition’ introduces six routes focused on promoting local cuisine. These activities will not only include visits to local producers but also the opportunity to taste the region’s authentic and traditional products.
The presentation of the campaign also featured Javier González, the manager of Tivity, the company responsible for organizing and preparing the routes, which have recently been recognized with the Charter for the Sustainability of Nature Activities by Tenerife Tourism.
This edition consists of 15 routes scheduled between May and November, aimed at practising languages, sharing cultural heritage and natural beauty, and indulging in local cuisine,” mentioned Díaz.
Each route is designed as a language and cultural exchange, with programmed activities and games for participants to engage with people from different backgrounds and languages, promoting environmental and cultural awareness and emphasising the importance of conservation,” he elaborated.
Supported by the natural and multicultural richness of La Laguna, this diverse offering aims to provide an enriching leisure and learning experience in a secure and sustainable manner under the guidance of professional technicians,” as indicated.
“This offering aligns with our strategy to enhance the image of La Laguna as a responsible, quality, safe, and sustainable destination, highlighting its rich offerings and attractions to residents and visitors,” he added.
The tours throughout various locations in the municipality will last around 3 hours, catering to a wide audience with low to medium difficulty routes, featuring networking activities, games, and interactive sessions in Spanish and English,” explained Javier González, Tivity’s manager.
González pointed out that the meeting points and schedules will be based on the municipality’s public transport network to promote sustainable mobility as a practice to preserve the environment while immersing in the local customs and traditions,” he stated.
