SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11th May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Mueca Street International Art Festival is drawing to a close this Sunday after four days of captivating, interactive, and charitable initiatives in Puerto de la Cruz. The city has been converted into a vast open-air platform for regional, national, and international artists to showcase their talents.

On the final day of the 22nd edition of the Mueca Festival, there are twenty events scheduled in the programme, starting from 10:00 a.m. and lasting until 2:00 p.m.

The day kicks off with the customary spaces such as Mueca Literario (Plaza Concejil), Canary Market Place (Plaza de la Iglesia), and the Red Cross Environmental Corridor (Agustín de Betancourt Street). These areas offer literary presentations, art, design, and crafts exhibitions and sales, as well as environment-themed displays and workshops.

The performances commence at 11:00 a.m., featuring Moi Jordana Cía. Circus and their juggling workshop at Espacio Nicko Valoriza; Teatro Necessario, presenting the show Nuova Barberia Carloni (limited tickets available on tickety.es for 2 euros) at Espacio Muelle Aqualia, and Paloma Hurtado and Yexza Lara with their contemporary dance performance Lágrimas secas, staged on San Telmo beach.

At 11:30 a.m., storytelling sessions will take place in various parts of Puerto de la Cruz with Cuentos Los Silos y sus Chorros de Cuentos, a series of tales suitable for all audiences to enjoy on the streets of Maretas, Mequinez, and the Pier. Simultaneously, the Paradise Swing Association will entertain visitors in the Colón Avenue area.

Five additional shows will start at 12:00 p.m. Totó El Payaso will bring laughter to spectators at the Plaza Reyes Católicos Asociación Afanes area, where Circoneta is stationed. Be Flat continues to dazzle with Follow me, a parkour and vertigo-inducing show at La Ranilla. Meanwhile, musical performances will be delivered by Alba Gil Aceytuno (El Lomo street) and members of AM Puerto de la Cruz (San Telmo walk). Additionally, on Iriarte Street, students from IES María Pérez Trujillo and Asmipuerto will present Nothing is what it seems, not even in stories.

At 1:00 p.m., the festival bids farewell to its twenty-second edition with the dance by the Glovo Collective (Alleo, San Telmo beach), the comedy of Mundo Costrini (Frikis, Espacio Muelle Aqualia), El Goma circus (The Atari Show, Espacio Plaza Reyes Católicos Asociación Afanes), the stunts of BotProject (Collage, Espacio Playa Martiánez Turismo de Tenerife), and the musical performance by Lajalada (Plaza Benito Pérez Galdós).

Bringing the festival to a close is Bloko’s social percussion, inviting the audience to actively join in with Súmate a los 100, at the Nicko Valoriza Space, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. To the beat of drums, the 22nd edition of Mueca bids adieu.

For more details on the schedule, timings, venues, and activities, interested individuals can visit festivalMueca.com and the festival’s social media pages.
